Tree Trim & Shrub Shear
You know that same feeling after a fresh haircut – lighter, bouncier, ready to shine? Well we can’t promise it’s the same feeling your trees and shrubs will have! But we can assure you it improves your curb appeal, promotes health and reduces risk to the tree and its surroundings.
Your typical trim or prune will cover branch removal of all types, including:
- Dead and dying branches
- Weak or hazardous branches
- Crossed, tangled and interfering branches
- Intruding, or branches close to utility lines
We’ll also remove branches that grow a bit too close to the building. These can often serve as a springboard for small critters looking for a warm place to cozy up in the colder months. Leading to wire and wood damage should they gain entry.
Additionally, we’ll selectively reduce and thin branches shooting out past the canopy line of the tree along with the underside of the branch line. This provides clearance underneath the crown and a natural bouquet.
Crown Clean Out
This maintenance process involves removing the 3D’s – dead, decaying and diseased branches and limbs. We also remove weaker branches to promote fuller growth of its healthier parts. These limbs and branches are ran through our wood-chipper, with mulch and debris cleaned up and hauled away.
Crown Elevation
This process raises the lower end of the canopy to help promote a fuller bouquet and provide clearance at ground level to the bottom of the canopy, achieved reducing and removing the bottom branches and shaping out and up when appropriate.
Crown Reduction
This tree trim process involves reducing and shaping the sides and top of the canopy. This is typically the upper 30%-50% of the canopy.
Crown Thinning
This prune process involves removing density, in other words trimming selective branches to reduce thickness, or weight and allowing for more light to reach inside and air to move freely. This promotes health throughout the entire tree. It’s performed thoughtfully as not to alter its natural shape or beauty.
Annual Overgrowth
Everyone needs a haircut now and then! Each Spring, trees and shrubs reveal new growth and overgrowth! Trimming and reshaping removes overgrowth and brings out the best curb appeal.
Weight Reduction
This important pruning process involves removing the 3D’s along with any interlocked, interwoven or broken branches and limbs. This is typically for branches of a particular thickness and density dependent on the species but is taken off throughout the crown for balance. As the purpose is to reduce weight particularly to prevent leaning, future broken branches from wind or further weighted by ice and snow, elongated and lower branches are pruned back. The overall objective to reduce weight, thin, elevate, balance and eliminate potential hazard and obstruction.
The View
This pruning process involves a thoughtful and selective approach to the above (again, we prefer not to take off what we don’t have to!) to allow for a view from your home or selected point of your property.
We haul away all debris and provide you with a number of options to beautify your yard or simply restore it back to the way we found it. With problem eliminated of course! Our cleanup will have you thinking we were never there.
